Freedom Lives In The Task
Apr 29, 2025It’s easy to obsess over what it means.
Harder to focus on what needs to be done.
We’ve got a client on his third NFL contract.
Most players don’t make it through their first.
The average career? Just 3.3 years.
But he’s still here.
Then came draft weekend.
His team added two more players at his position.
Now there are eight guys in the room.
They’ll keep four.
This is the moment when most players spiral:
"What are they trying to say?"
"Do they think I’m done?"
"What does this mean for me?"
But not him.
Not once did he mention the front office.
Not once did he question the move.
Not once did he make it about anything other than his own standard.
When we spoke, here’s what he said:
“I’m excited for mini-camp.”
“I’m playing my best football.”
“I feel sharp.”
“I’m working.”
Not because he’s ignoring reality.
But because he’s laser-focused on it.
Not the narrative.
The task.
Not 'what if.'
Only 'what’s now.'
It turns out, fear lives in the future.
And freedom? It lives in the work.
So—where are YOU going to live today?
Caught up in the story?
Or focused on the task?
